the food service industry and food manufacturers locally and overseas.
Based in Sydney, the company is now seeing to recruit a Food
Technologist.
Who are we looking for
As a newly created role, we are seeking a qualified Food Technologist to
develop new and adapt existing recipes for new and enhanced food
products to meet customer orders. The successful candidate will be
degree qualified and have at least three years experience as a Food
Technologist, ideally in a food production setting.
What you will be doing?
- Formulating recipes and developing product samples for testing;
- Organising trials and testing of new products for both internal and external stakeholders;
- Sourcing ingredients from suppliers and building solid supplier relationships;
- Conducting risk assessments of new raw materials, finished products and trials;
- Ensuring suppliers raw materials are approved and meet the required quality assurance standards and requirements;
- Inspecting and auditing suppliers premises to ensure raw materials conform to the appropriate safety standards and requirements;
- Collating relevant data for costings on product development;
- Preparing product costings analysis based on raw materials and manufacturing to ensure profitability;
- Coordinating with other departments to ensure the timely and
successful development and commercialisation of new products and
processes;
- Designing the process for the production of new products including
the volumes of raw ingredients required across various stages of the
production process;
- Identifying opportunities to optimise new and existing product developments as well as process improvements;
- Developing product support documentation including recipes,
formulations, raw material specifications, nutritional panels and
shelf-life for consumption;
- Managing customer complaint investigations regarding product issues;
- Conducting shelf life validations.
